Elizabeth
“Beth” K. Vincent, M.H.S.
Co-founder and CEO Vincent Foods
As a mother of three, Beth understands the challenges facing pregnant
women and breastfeeding mothers. That’s why she and her husband
started Vincent Foods – to give women healthy options for themselves
and their babies.
Beth has extensive knowledge in public health and maternal and child
health. She started her career at a health care consulting firm, The
Advisory Board Company, where she wrote custom research reports for
hospitals and pharmaceutical firms on topics ranging from best outcomes
in medical procedures to marketing and staffing issues. She also volunteered
in the Labor and Delivery department at Alexandria Hospital, and at
The Washington Free Clinic (WFC), a not-for-profit organization that
provides prenatal counseling for women without health insurance.
In 1995, Beth began a Masters program in Health Policy and Management
at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and then worked in Ernst and
Young’s health care division on marketing and strategy projects.
After graduating from Hopkins with a Masters of Health Science in Health
Policy and Management, she worked as a health care consultant at Covance,
a Washington, DC-based firm that provides reimbursement planning and
clinical trials research for pharmaceutical companies. The majority
of her work focused on marketing and strategy issues for childhood vaccines.
She left Covance in 1998 while pregnant with her first child. Two more
children followed in 2000 and 2003, but Beth has continued to stay in
touch with health issues and the health industry. She completed a doula
instruction course to help mothers through the birthing process and
has completed extensive one-on-one Pilates training. Realizing that
most pregnant women are challenged to find healthy, convenient, and
delicious options for themselves and their babies, Beth and her husband
founded Vincent Foods to develop and market the Oh Mama! nutritional
bar. |
